The Lockwood Mini Major is a reimagined classic — a loudspeaker that carries the legacy of Lockwood Loudspeakers into a new era. Inspired by the legendary Lockwood Major, trusted for decades by iconic artists, world-renowned studios and discerning audiophiles, the Mini Major distils that heritage into a form designed for modern spaces without compromising the musical truth that defined the original.

Originally conceived as an in-house project at Abbey Road Studios in 1968, the Mini Major was designed by acclaimed recording engineer and studio designer Dave Harries. Harries' distinguished career includes recording the first version of "Strawberry Fields Forever" with George Martin, helping create British Grove Studios for Mark Knopfler, and spending 25 years managing AIR Studios, alongside his work at Abbey Road and Decca Studios. His brief was simple yet demanding — to capture the exceptional performance of the original Lockwood Majors in a more compact, versatile design suited to evolving studio environments. Only one original Mini Major exists today, preserved at British Grove Studios — a rare moment where engineering met musical history. Today, Dave Harries has personally endorsed the new Lockwood Mini Major, recognising it as a faithful continuation of his original vision.

Each Mini Major is individually numbered and part of a strictly limited edition of 1,968 loudspeakers worldwide — just 984 pairs.
